Prominence II is one of the most popular mod packs on CurseForge. It’s a full mod pack, meaning that it’s got exploration, magic, combat, and technology. Since it’s on Fabric, the tech mods are quite different than Forge packs. We’ll cover those below.
The first thing you’ll notice is that you have Roughly Enough Items (REI) for managing crafting recipes and many add-ons like Roughly Enough Professions and Roughly Enough Trads which add more information to the REI interface, Xaero’s world maps (hit M to view) and a mini map (hit Y to configure).
Shader Support
This pack has iris and sodium included which allows shader support. All you need to do is go into the video settings, click Shader Packs and choose one of the pre-installed shaders. My favorite is Complementary Reimagined, though there’s also Insanity and Pastel.

What do to
There’s a quest system in Prominence II. When you start the game you’ll get a quest book in your inventory that you can open, but you don’t need it. In the upper left of the screen, when you open your inventory is a quest book icon to open the book. You can also bind a key to open this book.

The best part of this modpack is that there’s a story line.

Here’s how it goes…
There’s the creator named S’Kellak. They maintain balance though all the dimensions and has fought countless battles to keep the world going.
But they’re getting weak from all these battles and needs our help! There’s a world ending force called “The Void” who is planning an invasion of all the dimensions. They’re corrupting what were once peaceful creatures and turning in to deadly foes.
So here we have Chapter 1 where The Void has corrupted peaceful creatures. And we need to defeat them save the world.
There are a number of quests that take us through the different dimensions. First a Lich (once the protective King of Chorbia) in the Overworld, then the Gauntlet (once a peaceful watcher of the Nether), then the End Dragon (who was once named “Jane”!) and more…
Wow! I love a story that ties all the dimensions together! This sounds amazing.
And the pack devs promise more content every month.
The other quests at the time of this post are focused primarily on the different dimensions in this pack, starting with the Overworld and the Nether, there are a number of quests you can complete and get rewarded. But first do the getting started quests to become familiar with the quest system.
You can use the quest book to learn about some of the different mods in the pack. The list is not comprehensive yet, but you can get started on some of the important ones like Applied Energistics 2, Ad Astra, Industrial Revolution, and Rune Magic.
